Global hotel operator Accor has signed a strategic deal with Vietnam's Sun Group to add over 5,300 keys across tourist destinations within five years.
Accor and Sun Group have signed a major portfolio agreement to develop more than 5,300 keys across Vietnam over the next five years. According to an official company statement, the expansion targets top tourism areas like Phu Quoc and Danang, introducing hotels, resorts, and serviced apartments. The partnership will bring brands such as Sofitel Serviced Residences, SwissĂ´tel Living, TRIBE, and SO/ to the Vietnamese market for the first time. It will also grow existing brands like MGallery and Grand Mercure. France-based Accor operates in over 110 countries, while Sun Group is a premier Vietnamese real estate and infrastructure developer.
The first phase of the portfolio includes several major hotel projects. In Danang, the companies will open the 250-room Bana Hills Hotel Danang and the 180-room Ruby Beach Hotel, both under the MGallery Collection. In Phu Quoc, the pipeline features the SO/ Phu Quoc Ruby Beach with 300 rooms, the Grand Mercure Phu Quoc Ruby Beach with 250 rooms, the TRIBE Hon Thom Phu Quoc with 321 rooms, and the ibis Styles Hon Thom Phu Quoc with 588 rooms.
This deal highlights the rising demand for international hotel management in Southeast Asia, driven by a strong rebound in travel. By offering a mix of luxury and lifestyle hotel options, both companies aim to raise hospitality standards and attract more global travelers. For corporate investors and travel businesses, this pipeline shows that Vietnam is maturing into a top international tourism hub, already serving as Accor's third-largest market in Asia. The move into branded serviced residences and lifestyle spaces reflects a shift toward niche travel sectors, opening new opportunities for regional suppliers, aviation firms, and tourism operators.
