INDIA —Renewable energy developer ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has successfully commissioned an additional 17.91 megawatts of battery energy storage capacity with 74.323 megawatt-hours of discharge capability at its project site in Neemri village, located within the Rawatbhata tehsil of Chittorgarh district in Rajasthan. Executed through its wholly owned subsidiary ACME Sigma Urja Pvt Ltd, this deployment elevates the facility's total operational storage capacity to 71.64 megawatts and 297.292 megawatt-hours, with commercial operations slated to commence on October 25 following notification to regulatory stock exchanges.
ACME Solar Holdings Ltd is an Indian renewable energy power producer specializing in the development, construction, and operation of utility-scale solar, wind, and hybrid energy assets. The broader undertaking forms an integrated 250 megawatt and 1,069 megawatt-hour firm and dispatchable renewable energy complex designed to deliver continuous power output.
The deployed battery energy storage systems are engineered to capture surplus generation during peak solar hours and discharge electricity into the grid during high-demand periods, mitigating the intermittent nature of photovoltaic power generation. This infrastructure enables the facility to meet stringent grid dispatch requirements and supply reliable, continuous energy under long-term power purchase agreements.
This capacity expansion highlights the growing integration of utility-scale battery storage into renewable power generation networks across South Asia. For energy grid operators, independent power producers, and industrial electricity consumers, deploying large-scale storage enhances grid stability, reduces renewable curtailment risks, and supports the transition toward reliable round-the-clock clean energy supply.
