ACME Solar Holdings has finalized a power purchase agreement with NTPC Limited for a 400 megawatt firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project. The development expands the company's contracted portfolio while addressing peak power demand requirements.

INDIA —ACME Solar Holdings Limited, through its subsidiary ACME Marigold Urja Private Limited, has formalized a power purchase agreement with NTPC Limited for a 400 megawatt inter-state transmission system-connected firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project. The agreement follows the utility's competitive tender tranche, setting the procurement tariff at INR 4.37 per unit following regulatory adoption by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC). The infrastructure installation will interconnect via the Raghanesda substation, where final grid connectivity permits have already been secured, alongside land acquisition exceeding 800 acres.

This contractual milestone carries significant weight for utility-scale renewable deployment by addressing the inherent intermittency of solar generation through integrated energy storage systems. By incorporating structured dispatch parameters, the facility guarantees a minimum annual capacity utilization factor of 40 percent alongside a mandatory 90 percent peak power fulfillment obligation across daily morning and evening windows. This capability allows grid operators to manage high-demand periods reliably without relying exclusively on fossil-fuel peaking plants.

For the broader energy sector, the integration of firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) models establishes a benchmark for upcoming clean energy auctions. Power generation utilities, transmission infrastructure providers, and state-backed distribution companies face heightened expectations to procure round-the-clock green power that matches consumer load curves. Regulatory bodies overseeing transmission access and tariff adoption must simultaneously streamline interconnection approvals to support accelerated construction timelines for utility-scale storage installations.

The execution of this agreement elevates the developer's under-construction locked portfolio to 4,710 megawatts out of a total contracted capacity pipeline of 5,380 megawatts, reinforcing revenue visibility for institutional investors. Operating as an integrated renewable energy enterprise, ACME Solar Holdings maintains a diversified operational portfolio spanning solar, wind, hybrid, and battery energy storage assets. Market participants and project financiers are closely monitoring execution milestones as the company advances toward its scheduled commercial operation date under the binding contractual framework.
