Acwa Field Services expands into EU market via acquisition of Polish steam turbine asset

Acwa Field Services, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia-listed Acwa Power, has acquired the Wrocław-based steam turbine service operations of EthosEnergy in Poland. The strategic deal marks the company's entry into the European Union market, adding 85 technical personnel, active service contracts, and proprietary intellectual property to strengthen its regional industrial services portfolio.

Saudi Arabia’s energy services sector has extended its international operational reach following the complete takeover of EthosEnergy Sp. z o.o.’s steam turbine field maintenance division in Wrocław, Poland, by Acwa Field Services. According to official disclosures, the transaction transfers all field service operations, specialized maintenance assets, existing commercial contracts, intellectual property, and a live service backlog to the acquirer, alongside 85 experienced engineering personnel. The acquired business will operate under the corporate entity Acwa Field Services Poland. The parent organization, Acwa, is a Saudi Exchange-listed developer, investor, and operator of power generation, water desalination, and energy conversion facilities globally, with Acwa Field Services operating as its dedicated technical maintenance subsidiary.

This transaction marks the official entry of Acwa Field Services into the European Union, establishing a operational beachhead within Central Europe. By acquiring an established service provider with specialized assets and active commercial agreements, the company secures an immediate presence in the European power services market without the lead times associated with organic growth. The integration deepens the firm's technical capabilities in steam turbine field engineering while expanding its geographical execution footprint across the broader European continent.

The deal reflects growing demand across European infrastructure for specialized equipment maintenance, asset life extension, and operational optimization. By establishing localized execution capabilities in Poland, the business enhances its ability to support independent power producers, state-owned utility providers, and industrial facilities managing complex rotating equipment.
