INDIA —ADF Foods Limited, a leading manufacturer and exporter of packaged ethnic Indian food products, has signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited to install a 950 KWp rooftop solar power plant at its manufacturing facility in Surat, Gujarat. Developed under the CAPEX model, the solar installation is owned directly by ADF Foods Limited. Commissioning of the solar power system is targeted for completion by the end of this year. CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited serves as the EPC contractor responsible for delivering the project turnkey. ADF Foods Limited is a prominent global player in packaged ethnic foods, offering frozen items, ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook meals, sauces, pickles, pastes, and dips across 60 countries under five major brands. CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited is a premier commercial and industrial renewable energy provider in Asia, delivering tailored solar and wind energy solutions.
The installation of the rooftop solar infrastructure is projected to cover approximately 46% of the total energy requirements at the Surat manufacturing plant through renewable power generated and consumed on site. By establishing on-site power generation capabilities, ADF Foods Limited aims to optimize operational efficiencies, reduce reliance on conventional grid power, and achieve sustained long-term cost reductions in electricity consumption across its production activities.
This contract follows an earlier agreement signed by ADF Foods Limited for a 2 MW hybrid wind and solar power purchase agreement for its facility in Nadiad, Gujarat. The expansion of sustainable power infrastructure across multiple operational sites underscores a progressive push within the fast-moving consumer goods and food processing industries toward green manufacturing practices. Such adoption aligns directly with national climate targets and India's broader vision of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070.
By transitioning energy-intensive manufacturing operations toward captive renewable power assets, enterprises can mitigate market volatility associated with utility tariff fluctuations while strengthening environmental, social, and governance credentials. For clean energy solution providers like CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions Limited, expanding commercial partnerships with established food manufacturers reinforces market demand for customized, high-capacity rooftop solar installations in key industrial clusters across Western India.
