INDIA —Indian precision engineering firm Aequs has broadened its operational footprint within the global aviation sector by securing multiple long-term supply agreements with France-based aerospace conglomerate Safran. The expanded partnership deepens an engagement that spans over a decade, extending collaborative operations from Safran Landing Systems into additional group divisions including Safran Aerosystems and Safran Electronics & Defense, bringing the total number of Safran entities partnering with Aequs to six.
Under the terms of the new contracts, production activities will primarily be routed through the upcoming Aequs Engine Components Ecosystem situated in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The scope of work encompasses advanced precision machining of high-temperature superalloy parts alongside the manufacturing, specialized coating, and complete assembly of landing gear assemblies designed for prominent commercial aircraft programs such as the Airbus A320, A330, and A350, as well as the Boeing 787. Aequs is utilizing its vertically integrated manufacturing infrastructure—which integrates forging, precision treatment, machining, and final assembly within specialized economic zones—to execute these complex, flight-critical programs.
This development reinforces the growing integration of South Asian manufacturing bases into tier-one international supply chains. By securing long-term procurement visibility for high-demand aircraft programs, the company strengthens its industrial positioning as a primary exporter of complex aerospace hardware. The initiative also aligns with broader industrial trends encouraging localized manufacturing ecosystems capable of meeting rigorous technical and quality standards demanded by global original equipment manufacturers.
For international aerospace investors and market stakeholders, the agreements highlight a sustained shift toward diversified, high-reliability sourcing geographies. The expansion supports ongoing production requirements across major commercial aircraft lines while validating the scalability of integrated industrial clusters in emerging markets. Long-term commitments of this scale provide predictable revenue trajectories for specialized suppliers and underline the increasing technical maturity of regional precision manufacturing sectors in supporting complex global aerospace programs.
