UNITED STATES OF AMERICA —A $265 million debt facility led by Fortress Investment Group will restructure capital and back expansion plans at high-performance computing provider SourceCode. Structured as a $215 million primary term loan paired with a $50 million delayed-draw tranche, the credit package aims to refinance existing liabilities while supplying funds for ongoing expansion across edge and exascale computing segments.
Founded in 1992 and based in Norwood, Massachusetts, SourceCode develops purpose-built hardware configurations, liquid-cooled graphics processing unit architecture, and ruggedized edge platforms for enterprise, defense, and computational research applications. The company operates as a portfolio entity of private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, maintaining global operations across North America and the United Kingdom.
The investment reflects broader structural capital shifts toward specialized digital infrastructure providers tasked with enabling complex artificial intelligence deployments. Modern workloads, particularly autonomous and agentic system operations, demand increased thermal management, dedicated processing power, and heightened supply chain integrity. Secured funding will enable infrastructure vendors to deliver scalable, specialized hardware clusters capable of meeting sovereign and enterprise data processing mandates.
Lenders continue to dedicate private credit capabilities to hardware and technical service companies underpinning the global computing expansion. Financial backing of highly configurable infrastructure systems supports cross-border market penetration, strengthening capacity across national defense operations, medical computational research, and industrial automation networks across North America, Europe, and international markets.
