EUROPE —Aker Solutions has won a substantial contract to provide the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) substructure for an offshore wind development in Europe, according to an official announcement. The customer was not disclosed. The company said the contract will be recognized as order intake during the second quarter of 2026 within its Renewables and Field Development business segment.
The project highlights continued investment in offshore transmission infrastructure, which is essential for connecting large-scale wind farms to onshore electricity networks. As offshore wind capacity expands across Europe, demand for specialized HVDC platforms and related engineering services is expected to remain strong, benefiting the broader renewable energy supply chain.
