Anduril has been chosen by the Defense Innovation Unit and US Navy to participate in the Combat Autonomous Maritime Platform Project, following successful extended-range demonstrations of its Dive-XL vehicle. The programme aims to accelerate fielding of extra-large autonomous underwater vehicles for distributed maritime operations.

The Defense Innovation Unit and US Navy have selected Anduril Industries to participate in the Combat Autonomous Maritime Platform Project (CAMP), according to an official announcement. The selection follows a competitive solicitation process and successful demonstrations where Anduril's extra-large autonomous underwater vehicle (XL-AUV) completed the longest such demonstration to date, validating extended-range performance in operationally relevant conditions. Anduril is a defence technology company specialising in autonomous systems and artificial intelligence for national security applications. Its Dive-XL vehicles have accumulated over 42,355 kilometres and 6,752 hours of mission time across operations in the United States and Australia.

The company currently produces Dive-XL vehicles in Sydney, Australia, and operates a dedicated facility in Quonset Point, Rhode Island, with capacity to deliver dozens of XL-AUVs annually. Under the CAMP contract, Anduril will complete a long-duration, operationally representative demonstration of Dive-XL within four months. The programme represents a deliberate pathway toward scaled adoption of XL-AUVs for the US Navy, enabling experimentation with autonomous undersea systems at meaningful scale. This development matters for maritime defence and security industries as autonomous undersea systems shift from concept to operational reality. Extended-range XL-AUVs capable of operating in contested environments address persistent gaps in undersea domain awareness and distributed maritime operations. For defence contractors and technology firms, the programme signals growing demand for reliable, producible autonomous platforms with demonstrated endurance.

The strategic implications extend to allied navies seeking to maintain undersea superiority, with Anduril's concurrent work for the Royal Australian Navy's Ghost Shark programme demonstrating the scalability of its approach. For investors and industry observers, the selection validates commercial-off-the-shelf development models against traditional defence acquisition timelines, potentially influencing future procurement strategies across allied forces.
