IRELAND; NETHERLANDS —A joint venture comprising Arcadis and Tetra Tech has been selected as one of five suppliers on Iarnród Éireann's Multi-Party Framework for Project MDC PMP Phases 1-5, representing an estimated maximum expenditure of 600 million euros over its operational lifespan. The framework is structured for an initial five-year term with provisions for three consecutive one-year extensions, granting the joint venture eligibility to tender for advisory, engineering, and design assignments across all lifecycle stages of national rail developments.
Arcadis is a Netherlands-headquartered global design, engineering, and consultancy corporation specializing in natural and built assets. Tetra Tech is an American consulting and engineering services firm providing high-end technical solutions for water, environment, and infrastructure programs. Iarnród Éireann, also known as Irish Rail, is the national railway operator responsible for operating and maintaining passenger and freight rail services throughout Ireland.
The collaborative framework supports the objectives of the All Island Strategic Rail Review, focusing on railway electrification, network capacity expansion, regional accessibility improvements, and freight logistics enhancement. Supported by supply chain partners including IDOM, the joint venture will provide multidisciplinary engineering, environmental advisory, and project management services to facilitate systemic transport decarbonization.
This appointment highlights accelerating public investments in European low-carbon mass transit infrastructure. For engineering contractors, railway equipment suppliers, and regional transportation authorities, multi-party frameworks provide a predictable pipeline for capital deployment, ensuring long-term technical engagement in sustainable mobility transitions and regional economic development.
