QATAR —Qatar is accelerating investments in specialized educational infrastructure to cultivate a localized workforce for its expanding aerospace sector. According to official disclosures, the Public Works Authority, Ashghal, is advancing the structural development of the Qatar Aeronautical Academy in Ras Abu Abboud. Ashghal operates as the autonomous government agency responsible for the design, construction, delivery, and maintenance of all major public infrastructure and buildings across Qatar. The ongoing capital project aims to deliver a comprehensive, modern campus environment aligned with stringent global aviation training benchmarks.
The multi-facility engineering scope encompasses the construction of dedicated operational and instructional assets, notably a Flight Operations and Pilot Training Building alongside a state-of-the-art Air Traffic Control Simulation and Airport Operations Management Building. Beyond the primary campus, the project involves erecting a new Aircraft Support Services Hangar situated at Doha International Airport to facilitate hands-on maintenance and operational training. The development further incorporates the expansion of on-site student residential complexes to increase housing capacity and elevate living standards, complemented by a modernized campus master plan designed to optimize spatial utilization. Crucially, the entire infrastructure upgrade is being executed in compliance with the Global Sustainability Assessment System, ensuring enhanced energy efficiency and the integration of smart eco-friendly materials.
