INDIA —Ashoka Buildcon Limited has completed the 100% equity stake acquisition in Sakoli Power Transmission Limited for Rs 30.6 million. The target entity, incorporated in July 2025 as a special purpose vehicle by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited, was established to construct and operate the 400/220/132 kV AIS Sakoli substation and associated transmission lines in Bhandara district, Maharashtra.
This transaction marks the official transfer of project ownership following the issuance of a Letter of Intent in August 2026 under a tariff-based competitive bidding process. The project will be executed on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer basis, with commercial operations scheduled to commence within 24 months of the ownership transfer. The Ministry of Power has granted formal regulatory approval for the share transfer.
The acquisition expands the strategic presence of Ashoka Buildcon in the power transmission sector, supporting regional grid connectivity and high-voltage electrical infrastructure development in western India. By integrating special purpose transmission utilities, infrastructure developers secure long-term revenue streams backed by regulated tariff structures while strengthening power evacuation capability for regional networks.
