Assam Rifles transfers 18.8 acres to AAI for Phase-I expansion of Dimapur Airport

Assam Rifles has officially transferred 18.8 acres of land in Chumoukedima to the Airports Authority of India. This allocation is designated for the Phase-I expansion of Dimapur Airport, a critical infrastructure project aimed at enhancing regional air connectivity and supporting economic growth in Nagaland.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has taken possession of 18.8 acres of land previously occupied by the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School in Chumoukedima. According to official disclosures, the land transfer was finalized during an event at Dimapur Airport to facilitate the facility's Phase-I expansion. AAI is a statutory body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation responsible for creating, upgrading, and managing civil aviation infrastructure in India, while Assam Rifles is the country’s oldest paramilitary force, primarily stationed in the Northeast.

This development is significant as land acquisition has historically been a major bottleneck for infrastructure projects in the region.
