AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (ASTS) has partnered with STR on a U.S. Space Force contract to evaluate commercial space technologies for national security sensing applications. The initiative leverages AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (ASTS)'s LEO BlueBird satellite platform and phased array architecture for defense operations.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA —Satellite technology developer AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (ASTS) has secured a project role supporting primary contractor STR under a U.S. Space Force contract. The program focuses on an advanced technology development phase aimed at evaluating and adapting AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (ASTS)'s commercial space-based platform capabilities for military sensing and national security applications.

AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (ASTS) is a publicly traded satellite communications company developing a space-based cellular broadband network designed to connect directly with standard mobile devices for commercial and government users. The United States Space Force (USSF) is the space service branch of the United States Armed Forces, tasked with organizing, training, and equipping space forces to protect American and allied interests in space.

The contract effort builds upon previous on-orbit testing and technical collaboration between AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (ASTS) and STR. The program evaluates the multi-frequency architecture and low Earth orbit phased arrays of AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (ASTS)'s BlueBird spacecraft, which are assembled and integrated at the company's manufacturing complex in Midland, Texas. The platform provides scalable onboard processing to support multi-domain connectivity and defense sensing operations across airborne, maritime, and ground environments.

This development highlights the United States Department of Defense's expanding strategy to integrate dual-use commercial satellite infrastructure into sovereign national security networks. For defense prime contractors, aerospace suppliers, and satellite communications investors, leveraging commercial low Earth orbit constellations accelerates military hardware procurement, reduces government development expenditures, and expands mission capabilities for space-based domain awareness.
