The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities has launched a public tender seeking qualified spatial design consultants to coordinate and execute key cultural spaces along the UNESCO-listed Pearling Path ahead of the Muharraq Nights 2026 festival.

BAHRAIN The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities has issued a public tender inviting qualified spatial design consultants, architects, and multidisciplinary design studios to provide consultancy services for the spatial design and coordination of the Pearling Path Visitors Centre, Fakhro Land, and the area in front of Fakhro House in Bahrain.

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities is responsible for safeguarding national heritage, developing cultural infrastructure, and executing strategic public initiatives across the Kingdom of Bahrain. The scope of work encompasses spatial design, coordination, and implementation of selected areas and experiences for Muharraq Nights 2026. Muharraq Nights is an annual cultural festival held each December as part of Celebrate Bahrain. Taking place along the Pearling Path, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the festival brings the historic city of Muharraq to life through exhibitions, performances, installations, markets, and cultural initiatives. Through the activation of heritage buildings, public spaces, and key locations along the Pearling Path, Muharraq Nights creates a cohesive cultural experience that encourages visitors to explore the city, engage with its heritage, and experience Muharraq through contemporary interpretations rooted in its unique identity and character.

This cultural procurement initiative represents a strategic effort to enhance the urban heritage landscape of Bahrain and drive regional tourism through targeted preservation. By integrating modern spatial coordination with historic architecture, the government aims to expand visitor engagement within historical precincts while fostering opportunities for localized creative industries and tourism services.

From an economic and architectural perspective, the project underscores continuous investment in urban regeneration across key historical corridors. Specialized design firms, landscape architects, and cultural exhibition specialists gain strategic opportunities to deliver technical designs that respect strict heritage conservation standards while meeting modern public assembly requirements.
