Baker Hughes has secured a major contract from Searah North Ganal Limited to supply subsea production infrastructure and predictive monitoring technology for the Kutei Northern Hub offshore Indonesia. The equipment will support deepwater gas extraction across the Geng North and Gehem fields, bolstering local supply chains and regional energy security.

Baker Hughes has been awarded a major subsea equipment and digital technology contract by Searah North Ganal Limited to support the Kutei Northern Hub offshore development in Indonesia. Under the agreement, the energy technology firm will supply 17 deepwater horizontal tree systems alongside integrated manifolds, connection frameworks, and subsea control and distribution equipment according to official disclosures. The infrastructure will serve the combined development of the offshore Geng North and Gehem natural gas fields. Additionally, the project scope incorporates the deployment of specialized asset protection software designed to provide continuous condition monitoring and risk mitigation to prevent unplanned operational downtime.

Headquartered in the US, Baker Hughes provides specialized equipment, digital infrastructure, and industrial services across the global energy value chain. To support project execution and bolster regional supply chain resilience, the company will manufacture the subsea tree systems at its specialized production facility in Batam, Indonesia. Further field maintenance and operational services will be managed through its support hub in Balikpapan, ensuring localized technical oversight throughout the asset lifecycle.

This award expands upon the energy service provider's existing involvement in the Kutei Northern Hub initiative, following an order in 2025 to supply flash gas compression systems for a new floating production, storage, and offloading vessel. That facility is engineered to process more than 1.0 billion standard cubic feet of natural gas and 90,000 barrels of condensate daily, alongside a storage capacity of 1.4 million barrels. The overall development plays a critical role in strengthening Southeast Asian energy availability by increasing domestic natural gas supply while enhancing regional LNG capabilities.
