Bellman Group has finalized the acquisition of Swedish haulage and machinery firm Ekmans Hedesunda AB. The transaction expands Bellman's regional capacity in Gävleborg and strengthens its broader heavy vehicle maintenance and civil engineering service matrix across central Sweden.

SWEDEN Swedish civil engineering contractor Bellman Group has completed its acquisition of Ekmans Hedesunda AB after receiving necessary regulatory approvals. Originally announced in July 2026, the transaction formally closed on August 31, 2026, fully integrating the regional operator into Bellman's Business Area North division. The deal marks the group's third acquisition of 2026 and its 16th since inception, reinforcing an ongoing expansion strategy combining organic operational growth with selective corporate buyouts.

Founded in 1947, Ekmans Hedesunda provides haulage, heavy machinery, and specialized workshop services across Sweden's Gävleborg region. Operating out of facilities in Gävle and Hedesunda, the company delivers transport solutions for infrastructure projects while offering maintenance, bodywork, and installation services for commercial vehicles. Ekmans Hedesunda generated net sales of approximately SEK 239 million during its 2024/2025 financial year.

Integrating Ekmans Hedesunda enhances Bellman Group’s resource capacity and technical breadth across central Sweden. By securing dedicated in-house workshop infrastructure alongside an active fleet of machinery, the parent company improves operational resilience and reduces dependency on external maintenance providers. The consolidation aligns with broader Nordic market trends, where infrastructure service providers are increasingly acquiring specialized regional firms to streamline supply chains and capture long-term civil construction demand.

For infrastructure clients and regional stakeholders, the transaction secures continued service delivery backed by expanded balance sheet support. Headquartered in Solna, Sweden, Bellman Group is a civil engineering network specializing in rock blasting, excavation, transport, and mass handling. The group employs roughly 800 staff, utilizes 1,600 subcontractors, and generated net sales of SEK 4.0 billion in 2025. This deal position Bellman to capture further commercial civil engineering contracts throughout northern and central Sweden.
