BM GreenTech Berhad has entered a joint venture to construct and operate a 8MW net export biomass power facility in Perak, Malaysia, capitalized at RM110 million under the country's Feed-in Tariff scheme.

A joint venture has been established to develop an 8MW net export co-generation biomass facility in Hutan Melintang, Perak, representing a capital commitment of RM110 million. Under the arrangement, Boilermech, a subsidiary of BM GreenTech Berhad, holds a 40 percent stake in the special purpose vehicle BM BioEnergy Innovations. Equal equity partner QL NutriFood maintains a 40 percent interest, while local feedstock consortium Synbio Power controls the remaining 20 percent. Boilermech will serve as the turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning provider, with target commercial operation scheduled for the third quarter of 2029.

BM GreenTech Berhad is a Malaysia-based engineering and sustainable energy provider specializing in industrial boiler systems and renewable power solutions. Its parent entity, QL Resources Berhad, is a major multinational agro-food corporate group operating across Asia-Pacific.

The project secures long-term economic utility by integrating regional industrial waste streams into the national grid framework. Receival of Sustainable Energy Development Authority approval guarantees a 21-year Feed-in Tariff framework, stabilizing cash flow projections for project partners. Feedstock security is established through palm oil mill waste supplied by local processing operations, while nearby industrial processing plants will absorb the produced steam off-take.

This development underscores a broader trend toward decentralized circular-economy energy projects within Southeast Asian agricultural hubs. By converting agricultural residues into dispatchable power and process heat, regional agribusinesses mitigate waste management liabilities while securing low-carbon utility inputs. For investors, the long-dated tariff mechanism offers defensive earnings exposure against volatile fossil fuel pricing across regional power markets.
