Centalion Group has acquired upstream and midstream natural gas assets in the Haynesville Basin from Silver Hill Energy Partners, adding approximately 300 MMcfd of production and 72,000 net acres. The transaction strengthens Centalion's footprint in one of the fastest-growing U.S. shale regions amid record domestic gas output.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA —Centalion Group has completed the acquisition of a portfolio of upstream and midstream natural gas assets in the Haynesville Basin from Silver Hill Energy Partners, marking a significant expansion of its physical energy operations in the United States. The acquired assets include current net production of approximately 300 million cubic feet per day (MMcfd) of natural gas, along with roughly 72,000 net acres positioned in the core development areas of the Haynesville and Bossier formations.

The transaction provides Centalion with approximately 300 gross operated development locations, offering substantial inventory life and growth potential in one of the most productive natural gas basins in North America. Silver Hill Energy Partners assembled the majority of this position through strategic acquisitions between late 2021 and mid-2023, during which it operated up to four drilling rigs and achieved significant improvements in development efficiency and cost management.

Under Silver Hill's ownership, production from these assets increased from under 100 MMcfd to more than 300 MMcfd, while the company retained hundreds of additional drilling locations for future development. The assets benefit from expanded midstream infrastructure, saltwater-disposal capacity, and long-term gathering and transportation agreements that support flow assurance and provide access to attractive Gulf Coast trading opportunities.

This acquisition builds upon Centalion's earlier purchases of Haynesville assets in 2026, positioning the company as one of the largest private operators in the basin on a pro-forma basis. The deal was executed in partnership with Western Natural Resources, led by Heath Mireles, which will operate the assets and execute an active development program aimed at growing the platform within the basin.

The timing of this acquisition coincides with robust growth in U.S. natural gas production, with the Haynesville region experiencing a 7 percent increase in output during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, adding 1.1 billion cubic feet per day to regional production [[35]]. The U.S. Energy Information Administration has projected that Haynesville natural gas production will continue to expand, contributing significantly to record national output levels expected in 2026 and 2027 [[23]].

Centalion Group, formerly known as Gunvor Group, recently underwent a corporate rebranding and announced plans to redomicile its headquarters from Cyprus to Singapore [[27]]. As one of the world's largest independent physical energy trading companies, Centalion creates logistics solutions that move energy commodities including oil, gas, power, metals, and minerals across global supply chains. The company has been expanding its investments in strategic infrastructure, including upstream oil and gas production facilities, terminals, refineries, and storage assets.

Silver Hill Energy Partners is a Dallas-based private energy company founded in 2011 by Kyle D. Miller. Since its inception, the firm has raised approximately $4.2 billion in institutional equity capital across five partnerships focused on acquiring and developing operated oil, natural gas, and related infrastructure assets in premier onshore U.S. basins. Following this transaction, Silver Hill's operated portfolio consists of significant assets in the Bakken and Eagle Ford formations, comprising roughly 115,000 operated net acres, approximately 1,000 gross drilling locations, and 22,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day of production.

The acquisition provides Centalion with strategic Gulf Coast access, exposing the company to multiple domestic demand centers and liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facilities. By leveraging its integrated marketing and trading capabilities, Centalion aims to capture optimization opportunities and create long-term value from the acquired assets. The company has stated its intention to deploy capital to develop U.S. natural resources, generate economic activity in local communities, and strengthen domestic energy supply chains.

For industry stakeholders, this transaction reflects continued consolidation in the Haynesville Basin as larger players seek to achieve scale and operational efficiencies in a competitive market environment. The deal underscores the strategic importance of the Haynesville region, which has rebounded strongly after a period of reduced drilling activity between 2022 and 2024. With access to LNG export infrastructure and growing demand from data centers and industrial users, the basin remains a focal point for natural gas investment in the United States.
