UNITED STATES OF AMERICA —Upstream energy company Vitesse Energy completed the purchase of non-working oil and gas production assets across Colorado's Denver-Julesburg Basin for an initial unadjusted transaction value of $26 million. Funded via existing cash reserves and revolving credit capacity, the transaction gives the firm ownership interest in producing assets located primarily in Weld County. All physical operations across the acquired acreage will remain under the management of Chevron, aligning with Vitesse’s strategy of taking financial positions alongside major operators.
Headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado, Vitesse Energy is an independent energy enterprise specializing in the acquisition and management of non-operated working interests in North American oil and gas properties.
The acquired asset package is projected to deliver daily production of roughly 900 barrels of oil equivalent over the next 12 months, with natural gas and liquids constituting the majority of output alongside a 28% crude oil mix. To insulate cash flows and protect projected investment returns through 2030, comprehensive derivative hedging contracts were executed concurrently with the closing. The acquired assets carry immediate financial accretion, strengthening earnings, operating cash flow, free cash flow, and net asset value per share.
This transaction highlights ongoing consolidation within premier domestic basins as non-operator models gain traction. By acquiring high-margin, proved developed producing wells without absorbing field-level operating risk or capital overhead, non-operating financial firms provide liquidity to primary developers while securing durable yield. For the regional energy sector, steady production under Chevron’s operational oversight maintains resource output across the DJ Basin while optimizing balance sheet leverage for financial market participants.
