Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has completed its acquisition of Ørsted's European onshore business through its CI V fund, launching Perigus Energy. The new entity operates 826 MW of onshore wind, solar, and battery storage projects across Ireland, Germany, the UK, and Spain, with a multi-gigawatt pipeline under development.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners has launched Perigus Energy following the completion of its acquisition of Ørsted's European onshore business through its fifth flagship fund, CI V, according to an official announcement. The former Ørsted business now operates under a new name and identity as Perigus Energy, developing, building, and operating onshore wind, solar, and battery storage projects in Ireland, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Spain.
CIP is a global renewable energy investment manager. Perigus Energy has a total operational and under-construction capacity of 826 MW, delivering clean electricity to power the equivalent of approximately 600,000 European homes, with five further projects under construction in Ireland and Germany. The portfolio is supported by a resilient commercial structure combining government-backed support schemes and corporate power purchase agreements.
This development matters for Europe's onshore renewables sector, where high volatility in international energy markets demonstrates the need for secure, home-grown green electricity. Perigus Energy's multi-gigawatt investment-ready pipeline spans onshore wind, solar, and battery storage. All existing contracts, partners, and counterparties remain unaffected by the transaction.
For the renewable energy industry, the acquisition provides Perigus Energy with CIP's backing to unlock the full potential of its pipeline. Headquartered in Cork, the company has over 200 people working on site and from offices in Regensburg, Lauf, Potsdam, Essen, Hamburg, London, Edinburgh, and Madrid. Kieran White serves as CEO, with Kunal Patel of CIP noting the combination of a proven team, established operating portfolio, and promising pipeline across core European power markets.
