According to official statements, the initiatives included the virtual launch of electric vehicles and the foundation laying for new public and industrial infrastructure in Maharashtra’s coal belt. Key developments included plans for the Black Diamond Sports Stadium in Kamptee near Nagpur, the Swami Vivekananda Eco Park in the Tadali area of Wani, and a First Mile Connectivity system at the Sasti open-cast mine in Ballarpur.
First Mile Connectivity projects are designed to automate coal handling and transport from pithead to loading points, reducing manual handling, lowering logistics costs, and improving operational efficiency. Western Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, is one of the major coal-producing companies in India and operates mines primarily across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
