Testing, inspection, and certification firm Cotecna Group has acquired Hyderabad-based Energon Labs, strengthening its Life Sciences capabilities and expanding its analytical laboratory network across India, the US, and Middle Eastern healthcare markets.

INDIA —Geneva-headquartered testing, inspection, and certification group Cotecna has finalized the takeover of Energon Labs, an analytical testing facility situated in Hyderabad. The strategic transaction expands the buyer's global Life Sciences network and embeds specialized laboratory infrastructure within India's prominent pharmaceutical and biotechnology cluster.

Energon Labs operates as a cGMP-compliant, USFDA-inspected analytical testing provider specializing in raw material validation, impurity profiling, stability evaluations, extractables and leachables, peptide characterization, and medical device packaging compatibility. Established in 1975, Cotecna provides global supply chain testing, inspection, and certification services spanning agriculture, consumer products, minerals, and pharmaceuticals.

The integration of the Hyderabad laboratory enhances Cotecna's analytical portfolio across pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical device, and packaging sectors. The acquired entity complements existing Life Sciences network operations, including Shiva Analyticals and Neotron Pharma, positioning the parent organization to capture growing demand for regulatory-compliant testing services in the Asia-Pacific region and North America.

This deal underscores accelerating consolidation within the global pharmaceutical quality assurance sector. As global healthcare supply chains face tighter regulatory scrutiny, contract testing facilities with established USFDA clearance represent high-value targets for international certification providers seeking direct access to India's manufacturing ecosystem.
