Dasco secures KRW 22.98 billion operation and management contract for utility-scale solar plant in South Korea

South Korean infrastructure firm Dasco has secured a 20-year operation and management contract for a 72.98 MW solar power facility in Jeollanam-do.

Dasco has finalized a long-term operation and management outsourcing agreement with Green Tech City Co., Ltd. The domestic mandate covers a 72.98 MW solar power installation situated in Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do. Dasco is a South Korea-based enterprise listed on the Korea Exchange, operating across the infrastructure, construction materials, and renewable energy sectors. The initial base valuation for the project is estimated at KRW 22.98 billion, excluding value-added taxes, though final financial parameters may shift slightly pending the conclusion of joint-contractor negotiations.

The execution timeline for the facility’s operations is slated to span 240 months, officially commencing in March 2027. This two-decade service commitment underscores a critical evolution in South Korea's energy transition, where managing the lifecycle of utility-scale renewable assets is becoming as lucrative as the initial construction phase. As national policies increasingly mandate grid decarbonization, the requirement for specialized facility maintenance guarantees operational efficiency and extends the productive lifespan of green infrastructure.

For institutional investors and market analysts, this development signals a strategic transition toward highly predictable, recurring revenue streams. By locking in a 20-year contract lifecycle, the firm effectively shields a portion of its cash flow from the cyclical volatility traditionally associated with industrial construction. Furthermore, the partnership firmly embeds the company within the regional sustainable energy supply chain, reinforcing its long-term portfolio diversification strategy.
