ITALY; UNITED KINGDOM —Italian appliance maker De' Longhi S.p.A. has executed a €662.5 million share purchase to buy out DLI Limited's full equity position in its professional coffee business. The transaction elevates De' Longhi's controlling ownership in the specialized unit from 61.56% to 88.02%. The division houses premium commercial espresso equipment brands La Marzocco and Eversys.
De' Longhi S.p.A. is an Italian manufacturer listed on Euronext Milan, specializing in small household appliances, kitchen equipment, and premium coffee machinery.
This ownership expansion cements coffee infrastructure as the central growth driver for the group. By buyout out its minority partner, the company secures operational governance over high-margin commercial coffee assets. The move streamlines capital allocation and accelerates product alignment across both consumer and commercial espresso channels.
The buyout highlights growing consolidation across Western Europe's commercial foodservice and hospitality equipment markets. As global coffee shop chains and specialized venues expand, demand for high-end espresso machinery continues to outperform standard consumer appliances. Legal advisory for the transaction was managed by White & Case LLP.
For institutional investors and market participants, the increased equity stake offers clearer financial integration of the profitable professional division into De' Longhi's consolidated balance sheet. Controlling nearly nine-tenths of the business allows the group to fully capture operational synergies, launch unified cross-market initiatives, and build long-term enterprise value in the global coffee sector.
