SOUTHEAST ASIA —Industrie De Nora S.p.A. (“De Nora”) , through its Singapore operation, has won an approximately €30 million contract from an international customer to develop a wastewater treatment plant for a new semiconductor advanced packaging facility in Southeast Asia. The customer has not been publicly identified, and the specific project country has not been disclosed.
The awarded scope spans the complete delivery cycle, including plant design, procurement, equipment delivery, installation, testing and commissioning. The completed Wastewater Treatment Plant will be used to treat and recover wastewater produced by semiconductor manufacturing processes, making water-management infrastructure an integral part of the new facility's supporting systems.
The development is significant for the semiconductor supply chain because advanced packaging capacity is expanding across Southeast Asia, increasing demand for specialised industrial utilities alongside new production facilities. Wastewater generated by semiconductor processes can require dedicated treatment and recovery systems, creating additional infrastructure requirements for manufacturers and their project partners.
Project execution is scheduled to begin in 2026, with final handover targeted for the end of 2028. The multi-year implementation period provides a defined pipeline covering engineering, equipment supply, construction-related installation and final commissioning, while giving the customer a dedicated system for managing production-related wastewater.
For semiconductor manufacturers, engineering contractors and industrial water-treatment suppliers, the award points to growing opportunities at the intersection of electronics manufacturing and water infrastructure in Southeast Asia. Companies developing new semiconductor facilities may increasingly need to incorporate wastewater treatment and water-recovery capabilities into project planning to support production requirements and resource efficiency.
The contract also expands the role of De Nora's Integrated Water Solutions business in the semiconductor market. Industrie De Nora is an Italian multinational listed on Euronext Milan and specialises in electrochemistry, water treatment systems and sustainable solutions, with technologies serving sectors including electronics, industrial water treatment and green hydrogen.
