INDIA —Infrastructure developer Dilip Buildcon has secured a major intra-state power transmission project in Maharashtra, marking a strategic expansion of its operational footprint within the energy utilities segment. The company emerged as the successful bidder for the establishment and operation of a 400 kV AIS transmission system located at Yavatmal (Babhulgaon), under a competitive bidding process managed by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited on behalf of the state transmission utility.
The engineering, procurement, and construction contract is valued at INR 11.51 billion, excluding taxes. Under the terms of the mandate, the asset will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer basis, with a total concession duration of 35 years following an initial 24-month construction phase. Dilip Buildcon will acquire a 100% equity stake in the project Special Purpose Vehicle to act as the official Transmission Service Provider responsible for end-to-end design, financing, testing, and long-term maintenance.
