UNITED STATES OF AMERICA —DLH Holdings Corp has secured a new task order from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to continue providing information technology services across the federal health research organization. The award has a potential value of $43.7 million and combines a base period with multiple option periods extending the overall performance period to two and a half years.
The engagement continues DLH's support of the NHLBI mission, which the company has served since 2018. Services under the task order will support approximately 2,000 NHLBI scientific and administrative employees and contractors, placing the technology environment used by the institute's research and operational teams at the centre of the contract.
The scope spans several layers of enterprise IT operations. DLH will provide scientific technology support, application support, a tiered service desk and configuration management, alongside infrastructure operations covering both on-premises systems and cloud environments. Cybersecurity operations are also included, extending the engagement beyond routine technical support into infrastructure protection and compliance-related activities.
A key element of the renewed work is the continued use of artificial intelligence for IT operations, or AIOps, together with automation. DLH will apply these capabilities to areas including service efficiency, system reliability, data integrity, cybersecurity and compliance. The combination of automated IT operations with conventional support services reflects the growing role of software-driven monitoring and operational management in large federal technology environments.
For the U.S. government health sector, the task order provides continuity for a technology environment supporting biomedical research and administration while incorporating cloud infrastructure, application management and cybersecurity functions within the same service framework. It also places ongoing emphasis on maintaining reliable access to systems and data used by a sizeable scientific workforce.
