UZBEKISTAN —European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an international financial institution that supports project financing for development across multiple economies. Davr Bank is a privately owned commercial bank based in Uzbekistan that focuses primarily on micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise and retail lending.
The financing agreement introduces a senior loan package totaling up to 25 million US dollars, structured in either synthetic Uzbek som or US dollars. This capital injection is channeled through the Youth in Business programme for Central Asia, designed specifically to broaden credit access for commercial operations managed by individuals under the age of 35.
Under the operational mandate, a minimum of 30 percent of the disbursed funds will be reserved for female-led business ventures. Furthermore, lending targets place significant emphasis on extending financial products to enterprises located outside the metropolitan capital, focusing heavily on rural commercial markets.
Beyond capital disbursement, the initiative integrates targeted non-financial support. Eligible young borrowers gain access to professional training and advisory services delivered via specialized institutional advisory frameworks designed to strengthen corporate governance and operational efficiency.
Demographic data indicates that a substantial portion of the nation's population falls under the age of 30, representing a digitally proficient labor pool requiring continuous enterprise creation. Expanding structured credit access addresses structural employment demands by fostering private sector growth and building regional banking capabilities to serve emerging demographics.
