Bhd., has received a Notification of Award from Syarikat SESCO Berhad for the Mapai 500kV substation and Mapai 275kV substation extension project in Malaysia. The total contract value for the development is approximately MYR 221 million. Under the terms of the award, physical work on the project is scheduled to commence on September 7, 2026, with execution expected to span a 25-month timeline, subject to the formal execution of contract documentation.
Syarikat SESCO Berhad operates as the main operational power utility unit under state-owned Sarawak Energy Berhad, managing generation, transmission, and distribution assets across Sarawak, Malaysia. TransSystem Continental Sdn. Bhd. is a specialized engineering subsidiary of EITA Resources Berhad focused on power transmission and distribution projects, including high-voltage electrical substations.
This major contract award significantly enhances TransSystem Continental's order book while supporting Sarawak's broader energy infrastructure initiatives. The Mapai substation extension serves as a vital junction in strengthening the high-voltage transmission grid backbone across the region. The project will assist in expanding bulk power transfer capacity to meet industrial demand and improve system reliability throughout the state network.
Financially, EITA Resources Berhad confirmed that the project will have no impact on its issued share capital or shareholding structure, nor is it expected to have a material financial impact for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026. However, management projects that the project will contribute positively to the group's overall revenue and earnings performance over the subsequent two financial years. Operations are subject to standard power sector operational risks, which the management team plans to mitigate through regular project controls.
