MT Højgaard Holding's business unit Enemærke & Petersen has won a DKK 665 million general contract for the extensive refurbishment of the Taastrupgaard housing complex in Taastrup, Denmark. Work on the project begins in early 2027.

DENMARK —MT Højgaard Holding’s business unit Enemærke & Petersen has been awarded a major general contract for the comprehensive refurbishment of the Taastrupgaard residential complex in Taastrup, Denmark. Issued by the housing association AKB Taastrup-which is managed by social housing administrator KAB-the contract carries a combined value of DKK 665.00 million. The project encompasses Phase 2 of the area's comprehensive master plan as well as an option for Phase 3, which is scheduled for formal contracting during 2028-2029. Final contract signing is anticipated on October 15 following the expiration of the standard standstill period and remains conditional upon obtaining Schedule B approval from Høje-Taastrup Municipality. Construction work is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2027, with final project completion expected in the first quarter of 2030.

Enemærke & Petersen is a specialized Danish construction contractor under MT Højgaard Holding, recognized as a market leader in the refurbishment, transformation, and modernizing of social housing developments across Denmark. AKB Taastrup, managed by prominent housing association KAB, oversees large-scale social housing communities with a commitment to providing modern, sustainable, and inclusive residential environments.

The contract supports the execution of the broad "Fremtidens Taastrupgaard" master plan, a strategic urban revitalization program backed by the Danish Building Fund. Across Phases 2 and 3, the initiative covers the complete modernization of 19 residential blocks originally comprising 522 homes, along with extensive civil engineering, landscaping, and paving work. The structural scope includes the demolition of two blocks and the removal of 102 units, while remaining buildings will undergo deep facade retrofitting with upgraded insulation, modern heating and ventilation systems, electrical overhauls, and updated interior fit-outs such as new kitchens, flooring, and balconies. Additionally, housing units will be reconfigured into accessible residences, youth housing, and merged layouts to meet the Danish Parliament’s "Parallel Society Package" guidelines for balanced, mixed urban communities.

This contract win reinforces Enemærke & Petersen’s competitive position in Denmark's growing social housing refurbishment market, building on long-term strategic partnerships with major housing organizations like KAB and Civica. For MT Højgaard Holding, the contract secures significant order book visibility extending through 2030, highlighting strong long-term demand for large-scale energy efficiency retrofits and urban renewal initiatives driven by national housing policies.
