EQUATORIAL GUINEA —EnerMech has been appointed by Chevron to undertake pipeline pre-commissioning work for the Aseng gas development offshore Equatorial Guinea. The contract covers approximately 19 kilometres of rigid production flowline connecting the offshore gas field with existing infrastructure, with the work focused on preparing the pipeline system for operational use.
The assignment includes engineering activities before commissioning, project management and specialist pipeline preparation services. Execution will be coordinated from EnerMech's Houston base, drawing on its pipeline engineering teams and established pre-commissioning procedures. The work represents a technical stage between infrastructure installation and the start of production operations.
The contract supports the development of Equatorial Guinea's offshore gas resources while making use of existing offshore facilities. Connecting additional production infrastructure to established assets can help operators develop hydrocarbon resources without relying entirely on new standalone facilities. This approach is particularly relevant in mature offshore regions, where infrastructure integration can influence project economics and development timelines.
For the offshore oil and gas sector, the award creates activity across pipeline engineering, subsea services, commissioning support and offshore project management. Pre-commissioning is essential to verifying pipeline readiness before hydrocarbons are introduced, making the quality and execution of this work important for operational integrity, safety and production readiness.
The agreement also expands EnerMech's existing commercial relationship with Chevron into its Pipelines and Subsea service segment. This provides EnerMech with an opportunity to increase its participation in the offshore asset lifecycle, while giving Chevron access to specialist technical services for another stage of its upstream development activities. The contract further strengthens the role of Houston-based engineering capabilities in supporting offshore projects in West Africa.
