ePointZero, a subsidiary of 2PointZero Group, is acquiring a ninety percent stake in Azura Power Holdings Limited. The transaction purchases the shares held by Actis and Africa50, while founding partner Amaya Capital retains a ten percent minority interest. This strategic move provides long-term capital to scale the independent power producer regional pipeline.

NIGERIA; UNITED ARAB EMIRATES ePointZero, a specialized global energy infrastructure platform and subsidiary of 2PointZero Group, has agreed to acquire a ninety percent controlling stake in Azura Power Holdings Limited. The transaction involves purchasing the existing equity positions held by institutional investors Actis and Africa50. Under the agreed terms, Amaya Capital, the original founder of the power generation company, will maintain a ten percent minority ownership to ensure continuity in strategic oversight.

Azura Power Holdings Limited is a pan-African independent power producer established in 2010, currently managing 752 megawatts of operational capacity alongside a development pipeline exceeding 1.5 gigawatts. ePointZero operates as a dedicated investment vehicle targeting high-quality infrastructure assets characterized by predictable, long-term revenue streams and established demand visibility.

This consolidation matters significantly for the regional energy sector, as it injects committed, long-term capital into a critical growth platform. Sub-Saharan Africa continues to face substantial electricity deficits, necessitating robust private sector participation to develop reliable base-load and balancing power infrastructure. The transaction directly supports the expansion of grid-stabilizing assets required to integrate intermittent renewable energy sources across multiple national markets.

For institutional stakeholders and infrastructure investors, the acquisition signals a strategic realignment in African power assets. By securing this platform, the acquiring entity complements its broader regional strategy, which includes existing industrial and engineering partnerships on the continent. The retained minority position of the founding partner mitigates transitional operational risks while providing the necessary financial backing to advance the extensive project pipeline through final investment decisions.
