Magnora Data Center ASA has acquired a 50% stake in the Risti Kampus data center project in Estonia via a joint venture with Sunly AS, targeting up to 400 MW of renewable-powered capacity.

ESTONIA Nordic digital infrastructure firm Magnora Data Center ASA has secured a 50% ownership stake in a joint venture with renewable energy developer Sunly AS to construct a high-capacity data center campus in western Estonia. Under the agreement, the platform will initially establish an 180 MW facility at the Risti site, with plans to expand total capacity to 400 MW following scheduled electrical grid upgrades. Magnora Data Center ASA retains an option to increase its equity stake in the vehicle to 75%.

The strategic partnership addresses the growing demand from international hyperscalers and artificial intelligence operators seeking energy-efficient infrastructure in Northern Europe. Located 60 kilometers south of Tallinn, the campus will link directly to Sunly's adjacent hybrid energy complex, which combines 244 MWp of solar capacity, 144 MW of battery energy storage, and 44 MW of planned wind generation. The site offers high-speed fiber connectivity, delivering sub-five-millisecond round-trip latency to regional internet hubs in Helsinki.

This initiative underscores the accelerating convergence of clean energy generation and data infrastructure in the Baltic region. Estonia’s stable regulatory environment, advanced cybersecurity framework, and national target of reaching 100% renewable electricity consumption by 2030 make it an increasingly attractive destination for large-scale digital investments. The development provides a scalable model for integrating heavy industrial power consumers directly with co-located renewable generation assets, mitigating grid congestion and long-term energy cost volatility.

Magnora Data Center ASA is a specialized European infrastructure developer and operator listed on Euronext Growth Oslo, with majority ownership held by Oslo-listed Magnora ASA. Sunly AS is an independent renewable energy producer operating power generation and storage assets across the Baltics and Poland.
