Eurobattery Minerals has finalized basic engineering and commissioned core processing equipment for its San Juan tungsten facility in Galicia, Spain. The project aims to establish a domestic European supply chain for tungsten, mitigating reliance on foreign imports.

SPAIN Eurobattery Minerals has transitioned its San Juan tungsten initiative in Galicia, Spain, from planning to active implementation following the completion of basic engineering for a 20-tonne-per-hour mineral processing facility. Utilizing pre-secured project capital, the enterprise has initiated multi-million-euro equipment procurement orders with specialized international suppliers. Key orders include crushing infrastructure, local Galician manufacturing of heavy grinding apparatus, and dedicated gravity concentration technology comprising shaking tables and spirals.

This operational progress addresses key European vulnerabilities regarding critical raw materials. Tungsten serves as an indispensable input for defence, aerospace, energy systems, and high-precision manufacturing. European industrial sectors currently face acute supply concentration, depending heavily on external imports from China, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan, which collectively supply nearly all external European demand. Establishing local extraction and refining capacity directly supports regional supply security goals.

The facility benefits from a stable regulatory framework supported by a 30-year mining license extension valid through 2055. Technical specifications for additional plant infrastructure, such as hydrocyclones, thickeners, screens, and pumping systems, have been finalized to ensure seamless integration with metallurgical test results. Subsequent procurement phases will complete the remaining auxiliary supply packages.

For industrial consumers and commodity investors, the San Juan project represents a strategic move toward establishing reliable domestic sourcing for European high-tech and industrial manufacturing. By securing capital equipment and transitioning toward production, the project helps insulate regional supply chains from international trade disruptions and concentration risks associated with foreign supply monopolies.

Eurobattery Minerals AB is a Swedish mining entity listed on the NGM and Börse Stuttgart that focuses on developing critical raw material projects across Europe to bolster regional supply chain self-sufficiency.
