GERMANY; POLAND —Green power producer NeXtWind has finalized a framework agreement with electrical equipment manufacturer R&S Group for the project-specific procurement of power transformers. Under the agreement, equipment will be supplied through R&S Group's specialized subsidiary brand ZREW to support NeXtWind's ongoing wind farm modernization pipeline across Europe.
NeXtWind is a Berlin and London-based independent power generator focusing on acquiring, upgrading, and repowering operational onshore wind assets to enhance clean energy yields. R&S Group Holding AG is a Swiss electrical equipment manufacturer operating eight production facilities across Europe and the Middle East, producing distribution and power transformers for utility, industrial, and renewable applications.
Securing critical high-voltage grid components has become a pivotal strategic objective for European clean energy developers. Widespread supply chain bottlenecks and extended lead times for transformers have frequently delayed grid interconnections for renewable power projects. By establishing structured procurement channels, project developers can mitigate delivery risks and maintain strict construction timelines.
This arrangement reflects broader integration trends across the renewable power generation and industrial manufacturing sectors. Equipment suppliers are expanding manufacturing capacity—such as R&S Group's planned doubling of transformer production capacity in Poland—to meet surging demand driven by European grid decarbonization mandates.
