THAILAND; UNITED KINGDOM —FlightSafety International has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase the Commercial Training Solutions business from Acron Technologies, a portfolio company of TJC LP. Expected to close in the final quarter of 2026 pending standard closing conditions, the transaction encompasses Training Systems, Training Services, Aviation Academy, and Driver Training operations across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Thailand. Acron Technologies engaged RBC Capital Markets, LLC and Harris Williams as financial advisors alongside legal counsel Kirkland & Ellis LLP, while Baker McKenzie represented FlightSafety International.
This strategic move comes as rapid expansion in global commercial air traffic creates urgent demand for advanced flight simulation equipment and qualified flight crews. The worldwide commercial airline fleet is projected to grow from roughly 28,000 aircraft in 2025 to over 50,000 by 2045. By incorporating a business with more than 850 delivered devices and over 300 active full-flight simulators, FlightSafety International significantly amplifies its manufacturing capacity and global service network to accommodate this long-term operational volume.
For commercial aviation operators and training institutions, the integration consolidates critical infrastructure required to scale pilot throughput safely. Enhancing full-flight simulator availability and airline academy pathways helps mitigate emerging crew shortages across major international hubs. Additionally, the transaction reinforces supply chain reliability for specialized training devices across both North American and European markets.
