NORTH AMERICA —FLSmidth has secured an equipment supply order worth approximately DKK 225 million for a gold mining project in North America. Recorded in the third quarter of 2026, the order covers key grinding equipment required to process mined ore, with installation and commissioning planned for 2028.
The supply package comprises a shell-supported semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) mill measuring 10.4 metres in diameter and 5.3 metres in effective grinding length, alongside a ball mill measuring 7.9 metres in diameter and 12.8 metres in effective grinding length. Both mills will be fitted with dual reducer gear drives and associated electrical equipment. The order also includes mill liners, specialist tools and spare parts intended for commissioning.
Grinding equipment is a central component of mineral-processing operations, reducing ore to the particle sizes needed for subsequent gold-recovery stages. The capacity, reliability and integration of the mills can affect plant throughput, operating efficiency and maintenance requirements. The equipment package therefore represents a significant procurement component for the project's processing facilities, although the project's name, location within North America and processing capacity have not been disclosed.
The order is relevant to the North American gold-mining sector and suppliers of mineral-processing systems, electrical equipment and maintenance components. Deliveries and commissioning are scheduled for 2028, placing execution and equipment integration on the project's future development timeline. The order value provides an indication of the scale of FLSmidth's contracted equipment business, but does not establish the total investment value of the underlying mine development.
FLSmidth is a Denmark-based engineering and technology supplier serving the mining and cement industries, including equipment and services for mineral processing. The order expands its involvement in the project's grinding circuit and creates a defined equipment-delivery commitment extending into 2028. Further details on the customer, mine development schedule and overall project budget have not been provided.
