Fulkrum has been awarded a framework inspection services contract by Vår Energi to support its offshore oil and gas project portfolio. The agreement covers equipment testing and quality assurance across three subsea developments in the Gjøa area on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

NORWAY Global technical services provider Fulkrum has secured a major framework agreement with Norwegian exploration and production operator Vår Energi ASA to provide specialized inspection and quality assurance services across its offshore project portfolio. Under the terms of the agreement, Fulkrum is delivering quality control, equipment testing, and system inspection both on-site at vendor manufacturing facilities and offshore. Active deployment is already underway across three subsea tie-back developments within the Gjøa region, specifically targeting the Ophelia, Gjøa Nord, and Cerisa projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Fulkrum is an international provider of technical asset integrity, quality control, quality assurance, and inspection services to the global energy and industrial sectors. Vår Energi ASA is one of the largest independent upstream hydrocarbon producers operating in Norway, holding equity interests in approximately half of the active producing fields across the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The framework agreement embeds third-party technical oversight into Vår Energi's procurement and field development operations. In deepwater subsea engineering, rigorous quality assurance during equipment fabrication and pre-deployment testing reduces operational risks, mitigates potential equipment failures, and ensures compliance with strict regulatory standards. Deploying independent inspection teams across subsea infrastructure projects strengthens operational integrity prior to subsea installation and commissioning.

This contract award reflects sustained capital expenditure and offshore development activity across Northern European gas production hubs. As European energy markets continue prioritizing natural gas supply security from Norway, oil and gas operators are accelerating subsea tie-back projects to maximize throughput via existing infrastructure. For technical service providers, equipment vendors, and marine engineering contractors, the agreement underscores growing demand for specialized quality assurance capabilities in complex offshore environments.
