Norwegian technology firm Goodtech has secured a digitalization contract valued between NOK 20 million and NOK 30 million from an international aquafeed manufacturer. The project involves upgrading industrial control systems, SCADA, and manufacturing software at a production plant in Norway.

NORWAY —Norwegian industrial automation supplier Goodtech has secured a digitalization and technology upgrade contract valued between NOK 20 million and NOK 30 million from an international aquafeed producer. The project focuses on modernizing a major production facility in Norway by overhauling legacy control systems and replacing obsolete hardware and software components. Commencing in September 2026, the implementation is scheduled for completion by April 2027. Under the agreement, Goodtech will deploy supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and manufacturing execution systems (MES) to enhance operational data management and production flow control.

Goodtech ASA is a Oslo-listed technology and engineering group headquartered in Norway, specializing in industrial automation, robotics, digitalization, and power solutions for processing industries across the Nordic region. The company provides engineering services, industrial software integration, and control system architecture to manufacturing and aquaculture sectors.

Replacing legacy control systems addresses critical operational risks associated with component obsolescence and discontinued software support. Upgrading to modern PLC and MES infrastructure secures reliable access to spare parts, reduces maintenance downtime, and improves real-time data integration across the manufacturing process. By establishing a standardized digital architecture, the facility gains tighter control over product quality and batch consistency, which are crucial factors in commercial aquafeed manufacturing.

This contract highlights ongoing capital spending by aquaculture and feed processors toward digital transformation and industrial software upgrades across the Nordic region. For automation vendors, engineering contractors, and industrial IT providers, the project demonstrates sustained market demand for replacing aging legacy control systems in processing plants. Enhanced automation infrastructure provides feed manufacturers with improved operational efficiency, lower maintenance overheads, and a scalable platform for future data-driven optimization.
