Egyptian engineering giant Hassan Allam Holding, through its subsidiary, has been awarded a comprehensive water transmission and distribution contract in Oman. The project involves 676 km of pipeline and sustainable energy integration to enhance resource security in the Al Sharqiyah North Governorate.

Hassan Allam Construction has been commissioned by the Oman Water & Wastewater Services Company to develop a vast water transmission network spanning from Al Jardaa to Mihlah. According to official disclosures, the project involves the installation of 76 km of transmission lines and 600 km of distribution networks. The infrastructure will be supported by seven high-capacity reservoirs, two pumping stations, and seven integrated solar-powered systems managed via advanced control technology. Hassan Allam Holding is an Egyptian-based engineering and construction firm specializing in large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects across the Middle East and Africa.

This development is a significant step for Oman as it seeks to modernize its utility framework and ensure reliable water access for both industrial hubs and residential communities. By integrating solar power into the network, the project aligns with regional shifts toward sustainable infrastructure, reducing the carbon footprint of essential utility operations. For the construction and engineering sectors, this contract highlights the increasing demand for turnkey water solutions that combine civil engineering with renewable energy and automated monitoring systems.

For investors and strategic partners, the move underscores Hassan Allam’s successful geographical diversification strategy within the GCC.

The contract reinforces the firm’s competitive positioning against international peers in the Omani market, which remains a key area for infrastructure investment. Furthermore, the inclusion of 600 km of distribution piping indicates a focus on last-mile connectivity, suggesting that future opportunities in the region will likely prioritize comprehensive, end-to-end resource management systems over isolated capacity upgrades.
