HCLTech has finalized the purchase of Hewlett Packard Enterprise's Telco Solutions business, expanding its global engineering footprint and software capabilities across network management and automated operations for communication service providers.

INDIA; UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Indian IT services firm HCLTech has finalized its acquisition of Hewlett Packard Enterprise's Telco Solutions business, closing a transaction originally agreed upon in December 2025. The transaction expands HCLTech's footprint across key markets in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific by adding nearly 1,400 specialized telecom and software engineers based in 39 countries, while acquiring intellectual property focused on operational support systems, subscriber data management, and 5G network functions.

HCLTech is a global technology services company headquartered in Noida, India, employing over 223,000 professionals across 60 countries and generating $14.8 billion in annual revenue. Hewlett Packard Enterprise is an enterprise information technology company focused on cloud services, data center networking, and enterprise technology solutions.

The strategic integration addresses an essential market shift as global telecom operators transition from legacy infrastructure providers into software-driven tech companies. By securing proprietary assets across network virtualization, home subscriber servers, and automated radio management platforms, HCLTech aims to capture rising demand for artificial intelligence-driven network management, private 5G implementations, and edge computing implementations.

This consolidation highlights an accelerating trend within the telecommunications sector where enterprise IT providers scale domain expertise through targeted intellectual property acquisitions. Communication service providers facing complex software modernizations stand to benefit from streamlined vendor landscapes, while competitors face heightened pressure to deliver end-to-end, automated enterprise networking capabilities.
