Hexatech Engineering Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of HE Group Berhad, has accepted a letter of intent to execute MYR 47 million worth of 275kV electrical supply and installation works for a data centre in Johor, Malaysia, with formal execution slated for Q3 2026.

Hexatech Engineering Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bursa Malaysia-listed electrical engineering services provider HE Group Berhad, has accepted a Letter of Intent to proceed with high-voltage electrical works for a major data centre development in Johor, Malaysia. Under the agreement dated August 7, 2026, and officially accepted on August 11, 2026, the company will undertake the supply and installation of 275kV electrical systems for the facility. The total project contract value stands at approximately MYR 47 million. Finalization and execution of the definitive formal contract between the parties are anticipated by the third quarter of 2026.

This contract win strengthens HE Group Berhad's positioning as a key critical infrastructure partner amid Southeast Asia's rapid data centre expansion. Founded in 1995, Hexatech Engineering specializes in power distribution systems, high-voltage substations, and mechanical engineering for critical technical environments. Its parent entity, HE Group Berhad, provides integrated electrical engineering and building solutions across high-tech industries including semiconductors, medical devices, and digital infrastructure.

The procurement reflects the continuing capital deployment into Johor, which has rapidly emerged as one of the fastest-growing data centre hubs in the Asia-Pacific region. As cloud hyperscalers and artificial intelligence infrastructure developers expand capacity, demand for robust high-voltage power intake systems, such as 275kV grid connections, has escalated significantly to ensure power quality, grid stability, and operational continuity.

For HE Group Berhad and its investors, this project win demonstrates the ongoing successful execution of its strategy to diversify earnings beyond semiconductor manufacturing facilities into mission-critical digital infrastructure. Securing sub-transmission electrical infrastructure packages enhances the company's order book visibility for the current fiscal period while solidifying its track record in handling complex, high-capacity utility connections required by modern hyperscale data centres.
