INDIA; SWEDEN —Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. (HPPCL) has awarded a comprehensive engineering and project management contract to Swedish consulting firm AFRY for the development of the 191 MW Thana Plaun Hydropower Project. Situated along the Beas River in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, the facility is designed to generate clean utility-scale electricity to meet rising energy demands across northern India. AFRY will execute the mandate across two primary phases, initially providing tender engineering and procurement support, followed by detailed design, project delivery services, and construction oversight through project completion in 2032.
