Infosys has entered a definitive agreement to acquire Stratus, a US-based Guidewire specialist. The deal, expected to close in Q1 FY27, aims to bolster Infosys’ AI and cloud capabilities for property and casualty insurers, adding over 450 experts to its insurance practice.

Infosys has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Stratus, a technology solutions provider specializing in the property and casualty (P&C) insurance sector. The transaction, slated for closure in the first quarter of FY 2027 pending customary conditions, will integrate Stratus’ team of over 450 experts and its deep Guidewire Software partnership into Infosys’ operations.

Stratus brings end-to-end capabilities in Guidewire InsuranceSuite, data practices utilizing Databricks and Microsoft Fabric, and a global delivery footprint across the US, Canada, and India. This acquisition strategically consolidates Infosys’ position in the insurance vertical by combining Stratus’ specialized P&C consulting with its own Infosys Topaz AI and Infosys Cobalt cloud offerings.

For P&C insurers facing pressure to automate claims and refine risk models, the combined entity promises a scaled partner for core modernization and cloud migration. The move expands Infosys’ access to new insurance buying centers globally, directly responding to an industry trend where AI adoption is accelerating to address complex underwriting and fraud detection challenges. Infosys, a global digital services leader listed on the NSE, BSE, and NYSE (INFY), is leveraging this acquisition to enhance its delivery of AI-led transformations.

By absorbing Stratus’ repeatable delivery frameworks and domain expertise across personal, commercial, and specialty lines, Infosys aims to shorten transformation timelines for clients. The strategic fit underscores a market shift where insurers are prioritizing partners who can operationalize AI across core systems, moving beyond legacy modernization to data-driven, intelligent operations.
