Inox Clean Energy has finalized the acquisition of Vena Energy India from Global Infrastructure Partners for approximately INR 60 billion. The transaction expands Inox Clean's operational and near-operational renewable portfolio to nearly 4 GW while adding significant battery storage assets.

Inox Clean Energy Limited has finalized the acquisition of Vena Energy India Holdings Pte Ltd from Global Infrastructure Partners, a unit of BlackRock, in a transaction valued at approximately INR 60 billion. The deal was financed using internal equity reserves alongside debt refinancing structures. The complete operational management team of Vena Energy India will transition to ensure uninterrupted operations across commercial, technical, and development verticals.

Inox Clean Energy Limited operates as the renewable energy platform under the Indian industrial conglomerate INOXGFL Group, focusing on independent power production and solar manufacturing. Vena Energy India is a major clean energy developer managing solar, wind, and battery energy storage system projects across India. The company holds approximately 1 GW of operational generation capacity, alongside 1.7 GW of advanced-stage solar and wind assets and 1.2 GWh of battery storage.

This transaction significantly accelerates consolidated capacity expansion in India's clean energy sector, elevating Inox Clean’s total operational and near-commissioning capacity to nearly 4 GW. Furthermore, the buyout adds a broad pipeline featuring over 12 GW of wind and solar capacity alongside 2.5 GWh of storage infrastructure. Integrating battery energy storage systems addresses grid balancing and intermittent renewable supply challenges faced by commercial utilities.

The deal reflects broader consolidation trends within the utility-scale renewable power sector as institutional players scale up portfolios to meet clean energy transition goals. Strengthened integration between independent power generation and manufacturing platforms creates strategic advantages for infrastructure investors and clean energy developers operating in key South Asian markets.
