The contract mandates the comprehensive design, installation, testing, and commissioning of an underground power cable network alongside modernized smart grid applications across the Agartala Municipal region. Separately, the Ministry of Railways has designated Saleem Ahmad, current head of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, to take additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director of IRCON for one year starting July 1, 2026.
