INDIA —Renewable power producer Juniper Green Energy Limited has completed the full commissioning of its 150 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Gujarat. The milestone was achieved following the operationalization of the final 5 MW wind turbine generator, verified on-site by officials from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency and Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited. Electricity generated from the facility will be supplied to state discom Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited under an executed power purchase agreement.
Juniper Green Energy Limited is an Indian independent power producer focused on developing, owning, and operating utility-scale solar, wind, and hybrid energy assets. Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited functions as the state-owned holding company coordinating electricity procurement and distribution across Gujarat.
The successful completion brings Juniper Green Energy's cumulative operational portfolio to approximately 2,745 MWp of generation assets alongside 603 MWh of battery energy storage systems as of October 2026. The completion follows a series of recent capacity additions by the developer, including the deployment of a 75 MW hybrid plant in Maharashtra through its subsidiary Juniper Green Spark Ten and progressive capacity additions across a 200 MW dispatchable renewable project via Juniper Green Stellar.
This commissioning highlights the ongoing expansion of grid-scale hybrid infrastructure across Western India, where combining wind and solar generation mitigates intermittency and maximizes transmission grid utilization. For power distribution utilities, corporate clean energy buyers, and infrastructure investors, hybrid installations provide higher capacity utilization factors, supporting state-level decarbonization mandates and grid stability.
