DENMARK —Denmark's Jyske Bank has finalized a definitive agreement to acquire full ownership of FP Kapital A/S, operating as Formuepleje, from its current shareholder base. Formuepleje stands as one of Denmark's prominent independent asset management firms, overseeing approximately DKK 40 billion in investor funds for around 14,000 clients and operating key hubs in Copenhagen and Aarhus with nearly 100 professionals. Jyske Bank is a major Danish financial institution providing personal, commercial, and private banking services across the country. The transaction is slated to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending standard regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
This strategic move significantly accelerates Jyske Bank's long-term expansion goals within the high-net-worth segment. By integrating Formuepleje's specialized investment capabilities, Jyske Bank intends to broaden its wealth advisory portfolio, particularly in alternative asset classes such as private equity and real estate holdings. In return, Formuepleje's client base gains direct access to Jyske Bank's broader balance sheet capacity, retail financial products, and extensive administrative infrastructure.
From a financial perspective, the transaction is projected to generate over DKK 0.2 billion in annual net fee revenue for Jyske Bank, while contributing positively to earnings per share starting in 2028. Integration expenditures are estimated at approximately DKK 0.1 billion, with net capital consumption impact kept around 0.1% of the bank's risk exposure amount. Meanwhile, Jyske Bank maintained its existing full-year 2026 earnings per share guidance of DKK 71 to DKK 85, corresponding to an estimated annual net profit range between DKK 4.3 billion and DKK 5.1 billion.
The deal reflects broader consolidation trends across the European wealth management sector, where banking groups are actively scaling fee-generating, capital-light advisory businesses to hedge against interest rate fluctuations. By combining Formuepleje's niche advisory model with Jyske Bank's operational scale, the institution reinforces its competitive standing in Nordic private banking against both domestic peers and international asset managers.
