INDIA —KEC International Ltd., a global infrastructure Engineering, Procurement, and Construction major and flagship company of the RPG Group, has secured prestigious turnkey orders valued at INR 28.72 billion in its Transmission & Distribution business from the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL). The contract entails the design, supply, and installation of 765 kV transmission lines aimed at strengthening power transmission infrastructure.
This contract win marks a significant milestone for KEC International as its largest-ever single order within the India Transmission & Distribution segment. The projects are directly associated with the critical evacuation of 8.5 GW of green energy originating from the state of Gujarat, significantly augmenting the national grid's capacity to handle clean energy flows. Company leadership noted that this win pushes year-to-date order intake past INR 135 billion, reinforcing robust business momentum.
The development aligns closely with national clean energy objectives, highlighting the massive capital expenditure cycles required to integrate utility-scale renewable generation into mainstream transmission corridors. As India accelerates its transition toward non-fossil energy targets, grid-strengthening initiatives managed by central authorities like Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) serve as the backbone for stable power distribution across regional load dispatch centers.
For investors and industry participants, this substantial contract signals sustained bullishness in domestic electrical infrastructure spending. Companies possessing specialized heavy engineering capabilities stand to benefit from robust public sector outlays directed at mitigating transmission bottlenecks and accommodating decentralized renewable energy additions over the medium term.
